Every student is asked to write a report on an environmental health topic. The topic should be related to any environmental incident or accident that happened in the past, including natural disasters or man-made accidents. Identify and describe an environmental health topic of your choice that you would like to research. The topic should be related to any environmental incident or accident that happened in the past in your community, your state, or in the world. This might include any natural disaster or man-made accident that you heard about in the news. Answer 5 of the following questions: Describe how this incident/accident occurred. Describe the risk factors that led to this incident/accident. What were the short-term effects of this incident/accident on the surrounding population? What were the long-term effects of this incident/accident on the surrounding population? What were the short-term effects of this incident/accident on the surrounding environment? What were the long-term effects of this incident/accident on the surrounding environment? What were the measures taken to decrease the consequences associated with this incident/accident. What are the lessons learned to prevent such incident/accident from happening again in the future. Use your own words. Any act of plagiarism will be a violation of the Academic Integrity Policy and will be handled very seriously. Please include at least 5 references for your research. References should be submitted in APA style (in text and literature cited page required). Copying your website link is not an acceptable way to report your references. Wikipedia references are not accepted as part of the 5 references. This is project is limited to 5- pages of double-spaced, 12 inch font and 1-inch margins. The report must include subheadings. Please view the grading rubric attached. 5 points for submitting the correct topic on time for the instructor feedback and approval. 5 points for references (1 point for each). 8 points for each of the 5 questions for a total of 40 points.
