According to McBride and Tietze (2016), a project charter is the first step needed to begin one’s project plan which entails naming a project champion, both initiation and target dates, problem statement, objective, who will be the key stakeholders, parameters of the project, targeted benefits, and overall budget.
The quality and safety of patient care depends on leaders who are detected in making a difference in healthcare. Once a leader decides on a project, he/she needs to find a way to capture the attention of your fellow colleagues and sell one’s project. One should sell the project by demonstrate the benefits of the project and the impact it will have on patient care. Selling one’s goals and ideas to c-suite is essential in process of initiation and funding. Getting the authority to apply organizational resources is the start to one’s future success (Brown, 2005).
