Does the memorialization of the 1948 exodus set a precedent for the current Palestinian-Israeli conflict?

Research Question: Does the memorialization of the 1948 exodus set a precedent for the current Palestinian-Israeli conflict? ————————————————————————————————————————— You have to see how memory politics played into the events of Palestine in 1948 (land claims, legitimacy…) and how these play out today. Note, through a critical analysis lens how the events of 1948 are relevant from a perspective of memory politics. What happened and why, why does it matter today and how is it played out in contemporary politics. Both descriptive in that you have to detail the events and provide a sense of a more factual rendition of what was (and is) at stake, but critically, how does memory politics tie the whole thing together. The critical analysis is what you (as a future scholar, and as a university student) must develop in producing this research. Feel free to use as much sources as you want.
